Rita Marie Hacker, age 88 of Prudenville passed away at her home on Tuesday November 19, 2013.
Rita was born on November 24, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan; to Clarence & Agnes (Dedrich) Walker. She married Forest G. Hacker on July 19, 1947 in Detroit. The couple began coming to the Houghton Lake area in 1958 and moved to the area in 1965. They owned and operated Hackers Marina, Hackers Resort and Hackers Yamaha & Honda.
Rita is survived by Son; Rick (Mary) Hacker of Houghton Lake, Son; Ron (Colleen) Hacker of Gaylord, Son; Randy (Sharon) Hacker of Fenton, Daughter; Kathleen (Jeff) Waldner of Yardley, Pennsylvania, Son; Russ (Tammy) Hacker of Houghton Lake, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Brother; Tom Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband Forest G. Hacker in 1981, Brothers; Joseph Walker, Albert Walker, Sisters; Eileen Stachowski and Mary Walker.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday November 23, 2013 at Christler Funeral Home- Prudenville Chapel at 12 PM with Rev. Bryan Thompson to conduct the service. Visitation will take place at Christler Funeral Home- Prudenville Chapel on Friday November 22, 2013 from 4-8 pm and Saturday November 23, 2013 from 9 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials are asked to be directed to the Forest & Rita Hacker Sportsmanship Fund through RCCF located at P.O. Box 824, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.
