Eventually he was assigned to Merimar Naval Station in San Diego, California where he functioned as a counselor. After discharge he moved to Colorado where he trained as a truck driver. C.J. spent many years crisscrossing the United States for a variety of companies and hauling many types of cargo in all kinds of weather and terrain.
