BURENE, Sophie – of Davison, MI, age 88, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. A Graveside Service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, 1815 Groveland Ave., Flint, MI 48505.
Sophie was born in Flint, MI on July 18, 1930, daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Compian) Burene. She was employed as a Barmaid at the Misty Lounge on Western Road in Flint, MI for over 30 years. Sophie loved to dance, especially the Polka.
Sophie is survived by her son, Nick (Jamie) Burene; 2 grandchildren, Ragan and Connor; special niece, Rosey Goldsworthy; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
