Passed away Saturday evening, July 12, 2014 at his home. Age 82 years. He was born on December 1, 1931 in Hazelton Township to the late Edward M. and Mary (Serbus) Kviz. He married Donna Francis on September 20, 1952, she survives him.
He attended the New Lothrop United Methodist Church and was on the New Lothrop School Board. Ed was a lifelong farmer and was superintendent of the beef barn at the Shiawassee Fair for 25 years, Past Master of the Hugh McCurdy Masonic Lodge of New Lothrop, an avid New Lothrop athlete supporter and of the FFA. Ed especially enjoyed following his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also cherished the time spent with his loving family.
In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by four children; Kathryn (Bob) Schnell of Chesaning, Nancy (John) Schneider of Chesaning, Carol (Sam) Lucius of New Lothrop, Edward (Carmen) Kviz of New Lothrop, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, sister, Jean Burtch of New Lothrop and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Chesaning. Rev. Lee Sayer will officiate with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning from 12:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.
