AWAD, Anthony N. - Of Flushing, age 89, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at McLaren-Flint.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church, 4133 Calkins Road, Flint,

Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church.

Visitation 1-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. An Incense Service will be held 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Saturday at the church until the time of the Mass.

Anthony was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 14, 1925, the son of the late Niam and Sally (Moses) Awad. He was a Veteran of World War II with the United States Army, receiving a Purple Heart Medal. Anthony was employed at Buick Plant #36 and a proud member of UAW Local #599. He was also member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church. Anthony loved to play golf.

Surviving are wife, Sharon;

daughters, Antoinette (Randy Mallory) Blackmer, Dawn (Bob) Niec, and Sherry (Ron) Bartholomew;

son, Allan Howell and wife,

step-daughters, Phyllis (Tom) Hall and Pamela (Jeff) Godley;

several grandchildren and step-grandchildren;

several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren;

and sister, Rose.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Sellers) Awad in 1995, 1 brother and 4 sisters.
