BERTSCHY, Evelyn Dell - Age 84, of Fenton, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Robbie Carnes officiating. Burial in Tyrone Memory Garden, Tyrone Township. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 2-8 PM and Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contribution to the American Cancer Society or First Presbyterian Church of Fenton.
Evelyn was born April 30, 1934 in Martins Ferry, OH, the daughter of William and Wenola (Ellis) Wilkins. She was a 1952 graduate of Martins Ferry High School. She married Kenneth Bertschy January 17, 1953 in Martins Ferrry, OH and he preceded her in death July 12, 2001. She had resided in Fenton since 1972 coming from Martins Ferry, OH. Evelyn retired from the Fenton Medical Center and had also worked for Kundinger Fluid Power. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Fenton where she was a Deacon and Elder. She also was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are: 3 children, Judy and husband Don Jennings of Harbor Springs, Robert and wife Stephanie Bertschy of Lake Ann, and Thomas and wife Beth Bertschy of Linden, grandchildren, Austin Jennings of Bonita Springs, FL, Chris Jacques of Durand, Ryan Bertschy of Lake Ann, Ashley Bertschy of Fenton, and Harry Bertschy of Lake Ann; sisters, Gerri and husband John Gallagher of Columbus, OH and Linda Archer of Martins Ferry, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Wilkins; sisters, Ruth Wilson, Jean Kiss, Lavonne Wilkins, and Lavern Wilkins. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
