LaROWE, William – Age 85, was surrounded by his children when he went to be with The Lord on Friday, December 27, 2013.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Bill was born in Auburn, Indiana on October 16, 1928 to Delbert and Mildred LaRowe, who both preceded him in death, as did his brothers, Robert, Paul and Dean.
He was a Korean War Veteran and spent 40 years as a supervisor at GM Truck & Bus in Flint, Michigan, where he raised six children with his wife of 34 years, Ruth Agnes (Minzey) LaRowe.
He is survived by his six children, Sue Ann (Arnold) Nelson,
DeWayne (Barbara) LaRowe,
Dale (Rita) LaRowe,
Colleen (Michael) Joliat,
Christopher LaRowe and
Jim LaRowe;
grandchildren, Lisa Montemayer, John Delbridge, Gabe, Nick and Zac Ray, Brian and Bradley LaRowe, Connie Monroe, Jennifer Hinkle, Kyle and Kate Howarth, Beth LaRowe, Sara Keatts and Christopher LaRowe;
18 great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild;
his sisters, Charlotte and Evelyn;
brothers, Alan and Ronald;
friend, Joy Smithingell-Sanders.
He spent his retirement years restoring antique cars and tractors and crafting custom-built homes in the mountains of Tennessee.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Rabbi Salimi, U of M Hospital and Heartland Hospice staff for all of the special care they provided to Bill.
