JAGOS, Anthony J. – of Burton, age 83, passed peacefully away April 24, 2011 at his residence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Anthony was born in Czechoslovakia on January 6, 1928, son of the late Paul and Marie (Kubik) Jagos. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Anthony married Mildred Trn on April 23, 1949. They shared 62 wonderful years together and recently celebrated their anniversary. He was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Anthony enjoyed gardening, trout fishing and spending time at his summer home on Lake Leelanau. Anthony was like a jack-of-all-trades, he could do anything. He built his own home at the age of 23. Anthony retired from GM in 1987 after 44 years of service.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Mildred; sons, Vic (Cathy), Tony, Rod (Chris), Mark (Beth); grandchildren, Erik, Kathy, Rachel, Joe, Kate, Brett, Nick and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jake, Caden, Gabriel, Sammi, Abby, Andrew, Ally and Tyler; sister, Annie VanNatter; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lajza.
