DUMLER, Carl J. – of Burton, age 87, passed away April 9, 2012 at Providence Park Hospital – Novi, Michigan. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Chaplain Goodman Cox officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
Carl was born in Flint, MI on May 7, 1924, son of the late Philip and Anna (Erdman) Dumler. He married Olive Church on August 25, 1945 in Chelmsford, England. Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army - Air Force during WWII, where he was stationed in Europe. He was a finish carpenter for many years in the Genesee County area. Carl enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. He loved spending time at his cabin on Johnson Lake in Prescott. Carl especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his wife, Olive; children, Rich C. (Patty) Dumler, Cheryl (Mike) Terbrack; grandchildren, Keri (Doug) Coon, Leslie (David) Dombrowski, Kelly (Mike) Staake, Kristen (Don) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Jacob Staake, Lauren Coon, Sophie Thomas, Alyssa Dombrowski and Baby Girl Thomas expected in July; sister, Molly (Gordie) Korte; brother, Henry Dumler. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Phillip, Millie, Ann, Emma, Fred and Gus.
