Durward "Dee" E. Cushman, age 83, of Clio, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in McLaren-Oakland. In accordance with Durward's wishes cremation has taken place. Durward’s family will be present at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris to receive guests on Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 11:00 am until the time of his memorial service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Andrew Fralick officiating.
Durward was born in Flint, on July 25, 1935, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. and Mary Geraldine "Jerry" (Smallage) Cushman. He married the love of his life, Bernadette Murray on April 20, 1958, in Medford, Massachusetts. He proudly served in the United States Navy for four years until receiving his honorable discharge in 1958. Dee worked as a supervisor for AC until retiring in 1991. In his free time, Dee enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating.
Left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife, Bernadette; two sons: Michael Cushman, and Jon Cushman; sister, Patricia Coffinn; niece, Joy (Mike) Odette, and their children: Andrew, Alexander, and Amelia; nephew, Matthew Coffinn; special friend Bill Hossler, of Rochester, New York; and many other family members and friends.
Durward was preceded in death by his daughter Lynne; father, Kenneth; mother, Mary Geraldine "Jerry" and his stepfather, Lester Langlois.
