Jim was born on November 17, 1943, in Flint, MI. He was the son to George and Vecelia Engelmann.
Jim graduated from Berea High School, Ohio. Then went on receiving his B. S. degree from Cedarville University 1966. He married his wife, Judy Spear, April 2, 1966, Jim continued his education by receiving a M.B.A. from Central Michigan University.
In 1966 Jim joined the Army, studying and teaching secret communications in Fort Monmouth, NJ and from there he served out his final year in Vietnam.
Jim began his career in 1966 with General Motors. He worked for both Chevrolet Flint Engine and Chevrolet Manufacturing. While in Mexico, much time was spent encouraging and working with missionaries, doing a weekly Bible Study with some of the GM employees. After retirement, Jim and Judy redirected their lives by spending a year in China, teaching and sharing their Savior's love. Upon coming home, Jim continued to be involved at Emmanuel Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School, mission work with CWE, serving on several Christian boards, Cedarville University, Carriage Town Missions and Lake Ann Baptist Camp.
Today, Jim sits at his Savior's feet.
