Prieur, Marcia Lou of Alma, formerly of Flushing, age 79, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Mid-Michigan Medical, Gratiot. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Rossell Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Sharp will officiate. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Pathways Home.
Marcia was born in Flint, Michigan on September 30, 1933, the daughter of Ernest and Helen Marie (Smith) O’Brien. She married James Prieur in Flushing on August 10, 1962. Marcia was a member of the Flushing V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary and the Flushing Historical Society. She worked as a volunteer dispatcher for the Flushing Area Ambulance. Marcia was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed reading and board games. Marcia loved spending time at Carp Lake near Mackinaw City.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim; children, Karey and wife Deanna Prieur of Bay City, Karen Prieur of Cadillac; three step-grandchildren, Tiffany, Christie, Trent; four great-grandchildren, Shayne, Anthony, Shano, Alexia and several aunts and uncles. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; dear friend, Harry Herman and great-granddaughter, Ann Maria.
