LANGOLF-THOMAS, Marie M. - Of Flint, age 92, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at her residence. A Memorial Service will be held 12 Noon, Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Peace Presbyterian Church, 1521 North Elms Road, Flint, Reverend Robert C. Deal officiating. Per Marie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice. Marie was born in Saginaw on March 15, 1919, the daughter of the late Fred and Margaret (Weitz) Deal and was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. Marie graduated from Flint Northern High School, Class of 1937 and was a lifelong member of the First Reformed Church which is now Peace Presbyterian Church in Flint and was President and Secretary of the church’s Ladies Guild. Marie enjoyed sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great–grandchildren. She retired from AC Spark Plug after 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #651. Surviving are children, Carole Liddell of Flint and George and wife Kathy Thomas of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Scott Liddell of Temperance, MI, Chris Liddell of Lake Orion, Brian Thomas of Chicago, IL, Kevin Thomas of Swartz Creek and Kelley Thomas of Saginaw; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Kendall, Julia and Blake Liddell; brothers, John (Adeline) Deal of Flint and Robert (Melba) Deal of Phoenix, AZ; step-children, Ken (Florence) Langolf of GA, Don (Bev) Langolf of TX, Dick (Pat) Young of Brown City, MI and Pam Sheldon of GA; many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her husbands George Thomas and Ted Langolf, parents, brother William Deal, sister, Elsie Peterson, sister-in-law, Ruth Deal and brother-in-law, Erwin Peterson.
