David Ray "Fox" Walker, 74, a lifetime Lapeer resident, died Monday May 4, 2015. He was born January 30, 1941 in Lapeer to parents Preston and Leona (Lyman) Walker. He graduated Lapeer High School Class of 1959.
Fox started in construction steel work in 1968, with Iron Workers Local #25, he has been a proud member for the past 47 years. He was a fan of the Detroit Tigers his whole life as well as "following" the harness races. Mr. Walker loved hunting and fishing and even found a little time to enjoy traveling. Fox was at his best; hosting family fish fry night - but you weren't getting perch.
Mr. Walker is survived by children: Lance (Dana) Walker of North Branch, Zane (Tracey) Walker of North Branch, Ty Walker of North Branch, John Sweet of Lapeer, Mary (Tony) Robinson of Durand, eleven grandchildren, sister-in-law: Sharon Walker, nephews: Brad, Doug and his dear dog: Eddie. Fox was preceded in death by his brother: Larry Walker and his parents.
His visitation will be 4-8pm Monday (5/11) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Mr. Walker's funeral will be 11:00am Tuesday May 12, 2015 at the funeral home. The burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
