GORBUTT, Ruby Ellen – of Burton, age 82, passed away June 2, 2014 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday and 12-1 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arbor Society.
Ruby was born in Flint, MI on February 22, 1932, daughter of the late Edson and Ruby Mae (Anderson) Payne. She married Ralph Gorbutt on December 3, 1948 at Potters Lake in Davison. Ruby enjoyed activities at the Senior Center. She was a social butterfly. Ruby loved making clothes, crocheting, telling family stories and enjoyed fish fries at Potter Lake.
Ruby is survived by her children, Sharon (Ronald) Bunker, Deanna Gorbutt, Dennis (Laurie) Gorbutt; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gorbutt; siblings, Nelsen Payne, Thelma Press, Cassius Payne, Edison Payne and Vivian Kimball.
