MARTA, Josephine P. – of Clio, age 81, died Monday, August 7, 2016 at Maple Woods Manor. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM Thursday, August 11, 2016 at All Saints Catholic Church, 4063 W. Pierson Rd. in Flint. Fr. Thomas Firestone officiating. Burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday from 1-8 PM and at the church on Thursday from 12 Noon until time of Mass at 1 PM. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 PM. Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s or Special Olympics.
Josephine was born January 15, 1935 in Flint to the late Samuel and Rose (Genovese) Accardo and was a Flint area resident her entire life. She retired from AC Spark Plug in 1985 with 30 years seniority. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the UAW Local # 651. She enjoyed golfing and painting.
Surviving are: Daughter, Tamra (Ralph) Marta-Schilling of Clio; Grand dog, Zack; Brothers: Richard (Lorraine) Accardo of Flint, Joseph (Barbara) Accardo of San Diego, CA; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: Husband, Caesar Marta; Son, Samuel D. Marta; Sisters: Catherine Byrski and Che-Che Gardner; and close friend, Keith Prosser.
