Passed away Friday evening, September 11, 2015, at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso. Age 87. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Oakley. Fr. William Gruden will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Oakley. Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 pm. Tuesday at Misiuk Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church until time of the Mass. A Rosary Service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Emil was born in Owosso, Michigan on October 21, 1927, the son of Andrew and Katherine (Tomalia) Wirostek. Emil resided most of his life in Oakley and was a lifetime farmer. He served from 1950-1952 in the U.S. Navy and was Honorably Discharged. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. Emil served ten years as a township A.S.C. Committee Man and seven years on the township Zoning and Planning Board. He also helped with 4-H work. Emil loved the outdoors. His favorite sports were golfing and hunting and he liked to play the accordion.

Emil was survived by his brother, Ernest (Helen) Wirostek; sister, Irene (Duane) Ferry; and dozens and dozens (93) nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Katherine; sisters, Mary (Paul) Jones and Dorothy (John) MaKenzie; brother, Edward (Lorraine) Wirostek.
