KILBOURNE, Loyd Earl, Sr. – Of Flint, age 95, died Friday, August 14, 2015 at Genesee Care Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road,
officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the funeral home.
Loyd was born in Flint, Michigan on September 6, 1919, the son of Blake and Clarissa Kilbourne, and was a resident of Flint all of his life.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a life member of VFW Post #4087, member of DAV Chapter #3 and Flint Eagle F.O.E. #629.
Mr. Kilbourne was a truck driver with Teamsters Local 332 for 41 years, retiring in 1976.
Surviving are two sons, Loyd E., Jr. and wife Linda and Gordon W.;
four grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, on May 24, 2000.
