GUIDOS, Robert J. “Bob”- of Flint, MI, age 89, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, December 17, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Immediately following the Rosary, a Memorial Service will be held under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly #0523. On Monday, there will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Holy Rosary Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
Bob was born in Flint, MI on November 22, 1929, son of the late Stephen and Veronica (Kamick) Guidos. He married Dorothy David on June 27, 1953. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and always proudly flew the American flag. He was a graduate of Michigan State University, a devout member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Bob worked 34 years for GM at Fisher Body, Flint Assembly. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and golf, but especially loved time spent with family and friends.
Bob is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife of 65 years; sons, Greg (Mary), Gary (Anne), and David (Deborah); granddaughters, Lindsay, Amy (Quinn) Schara, Amanda, Alyssa (Joel) Langton, and Abigail; great-granddaughter, Brooke Schara; sisters, Dorothy O’Brien and Rita Kuchar; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ann Ross, Margaret Suhay, Mary Suhay, Theresa Suhay, Veronica Kneer, Rose Hayes, Cecelia Skunda, and Barbara Harrell; brother, Stephen Guidos.
