HOYT, David A. “Dave” – of Flint, formerly Montrose, age 68, died on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment will take place in Montrose Township Cemetery at a later date.
Dave was born August 17, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Willis and Maxine (Allen) Hoyt. He was a 1968 graduate of Hill-McCloy High School in Montrose, where he was a football star known as “The Bear”. After graduation, Dave studied psychology at Western Michigan University. He worked for the Michigan School for the Deaf, the Ypsilanti Mental Health Facility, and Houghton Manufacturing of Swartz Creek for over 20 years. Dave was passionate about music and spent countless happy hours jamming on his guitars, both with bands and on his own. He was an avid fan of muscle cars.
Surviving are: 3 sisters: Linda (Robert) Christensen of Swartz Creek, Marla Atwell of Flushing, and Kathy Howd of Flint; Nephews: Todd (Ree) Wyzynajtys, and Christian (Janae) Howd; Nieces: Tami (Brian) Johnson, Tonya (Bruce) Swales, Tiffany Atwell, and Kari (Dan) Gaines; Many great nieces and nephews, and friends.
