Marie H. Spring, age 95 of Vernon, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Durand Senior Care and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. Pastor Gerald Sever, Jr. will be officiating with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
Marie was born August 29, 1917 in Conway Township in Livingston County, the daughter of Calvin and Amanda Tullar. Marie graduated from Vernon High School in 1936. She married Ralph Spring on June 26, 1936. They spent their lives living in Vernon raising their family. Ralph passed away in June of 1996.
Marie worked at several factories in Owosso. She later became a beautician and operated her salon in Vernon for many years.
She enjoyed so many things in her life like playing cards, bowling and golfing. Most of all though, she loved her family and friends. Taking care of others and helping wherever she could was always her priority.
Mrs. Spring is survived by two sons: Dan (Janet) Spring of Linden, Dennis (Bonnie) Spring of Bancroft; two daughters: Charlene (Bill) Pierce of Durand, Peggy (Hans) Noetzel of Vernon; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Also surviving are several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom she loved so much. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; two grandsons, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
