O'NEIL, Wesley "Dad" - of Flint, age 89, died Monday, January 6, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Swartz Funeral Home 1225 West Hill Road. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. O'Neil was born in Flint, Michigan on May 2, 1924 and was the son of the late Alfred and Leona O'Neill. He married Verna Raymond on May 14, 1948 in Flint. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Wesley enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. He retired from General Motors Fisher Body I after 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 581. Surviving are his wife, Verna; sons, Terry and wife Marty, Gerry and wife Kathy, Allan and wife Denise, Brian and wife Vicki; son-in-law, Bill Stewart; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Hanson; brother, LaVerne and wife Mary O'Neill; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Stewart.
