Christine Marie Castle
Age 72 of Owosso passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Sparrow Health Systems.
A Time of Sharing will be held 7pm Friday, June 7, 2024 at Nelson-House Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2pm until the time of service.
Christine was born October 1, 1951, the daughter of Edward Sr and Helen (Smalley) VanStrate.
She graduated from Owosso High School, class of 1969.
Christine enjoyed being outdoors gardening and tending to her flowers and lawn. She looked forward to trips to the Casino with family and friends and spending time at her "happy place" in Kalkaska. Most of all Christine loved spending time with her family; especially her great-granddaughter.
She married Calvin Castle at the family home in Owosso on November 29, 1969.
Christine worked for F & E for 18 years and retired from Motor Products, where she worked alongside her sisters for 21 years.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Calvin; daughter Lisa (Joe) Conrad; grandsons Kevin Faber and Nicholas (Hannah) Faber; great-granddaughter Braelyn; sisters Karen Smith, Robin VanStrate (John Spiess) and Tamara (Michael) Hadidon; brother Edward (Janie) VanStrate; mother-in-law Laura "Peg" Castle; brothers-in-law Gene (Jackie) Castle, Rocky (Christine) Castle, and Denny (Crystal) Castle; sister-in-law Brenda (Fred) Henry; other loving family and friends.
Christine was predeceased by her son Kevin Castle, parents, sister Debra VanStrate-Hird, father-in-law Howard Castle, and brother-in-law Alan Smith.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Shiawassee Humane Society.
