Darlene M. Reinhardt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on March 20, 2025, in Flint, Michigan leaving behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and a love for the simple joys of life. She was born on January 11, 1936, to the late Ivan and Doris McGeathy in Traverse City, Michigan. Darlene married the love of her life Arthur “Bob” Reinhardt on June 5, 1955, and they were married for 66 years until his passing in 2021.
Darlene had a passion for all things that grew and bloomed, whether it was tending to her flourishing collection of houseplants or cultivating a beautiful garden. Her green thumb was a reflection of her nurturing spirit, and she often shared her love of nature with friends and family.
A master of many crafts, Darlene found peace and fulfillment in needlepoint and sewing, where her creativity knew no bounds. Her hands were always busy making something beautiful, whether it was a handmade gift or a cozy home project.
Darlene’s heart was always drawn to the outdoors, where she found joy in the serene beauty of the lake or the vastness of the ocean. She cherished her trips to Florida, where she embraced the sun and the sea, creating lasting memories with those she loved.
She had a deep love for her yorkie dogs, who brought her immense joy and companionship. Her home was a place of comfort, filled with the soft hum of sewing machines, and the laughter of family and friends.
Darlene was also an avid collector, always on the hunt for hidden treasures at yard sales and flea markets. She found joy in the hunt, and her home was a reflection of her eclectic tastes and eye for beautiful things.
Above all, Darlene will be remembered for her love of life and the way she made everything around her more vibrant. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her children: Kipp (Cindy) Reinhardt, David (Debra) Reinhardt, Dana (Bonnie) Reinhardt; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; son, Tim Reinhardt; granddaughter, Marie Reinhardt; daughter-in-laws: Charlotte Reinhardt and Susan Reinhardt; parents; and her siblings.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm and on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 9:00am until time of service at 1:00pm at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
