MADISON, Dr. Irwin G., D.D.S. – Of age 94, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at Willowbrook Manor.
A private service was held.
Irwin was born September 8, 1919, son of the late Walter and Eloise (de Generes) Madison.
Most of his civilian life was spent in the Flint area, graduating from Flint Central (Class of 1937) and Flint Junior College (1939).
During World War II he served 4 ½ years in the U.S.A.A.F (both 8th and 9th) in the European Theater Operation. Post War achieving his Dental Degree from the University of Detroit in 1951, retiring from practice in 1992, after 41 years.
He was a life member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association and Genesee District Dental Society.
Maintaining a lifelong interest in aviation he continued with memberships in the Yankee Air Force 9th Air Force Association, Michigan Air National Guard Historical Association and other local organizations.
Irwin was preceded in death by wife, Jean, on August 16, 2004 and son, Terrence on December 25, 1982.
Surviving are daughter, Marsha and husband Tommy Elsberry and their daughters, Alexa and husband Richard Scott, Adrienne Elsberry;
Terrance’s children, Theresa Triplett, Christina and husband Sylvester Davis, Sarah Madison;
seven great-grandchildren;
brother, Walter Madison;
two sisters-in-law, Betty Bonathan, Nancy and husband Richard Allan;
cousin, Wanda Thompson.
