FOX, Donald M. – Of Flint, age 82, died Friday, July 19, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at
St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 South Ballenger Highway Flint,
Pastor Steve R. Maske officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 11am-2pm and 4-8pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Mr. Fox will be at the church 10am Wednesday until the time of the service.
Donald was born in Ashville, North Carolina on June 6, 1931, the son of the late Jess and Callie (Clark) Fox and was a resident of Flint since 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mr. Fox was employed by Anchor Motor Freight for 18 years, retiring in 1993 from Inter-City Trucking and was a member of Teamsters Local #332. Donald was a big advocate of non-smoking and was a member of the Huff and Puff Support Group and was the last survivor of a very large family.
Surviving are wife, Joan M.;
children, Colleen (Ernie) Hnilica, Kevin and wife Kathleen Fox,
Susan Sears, Callie Johnson, Peggy Fox Turner and Jeffrey and wife Margie Fox;
11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his son, Donald M. Fox Jr. ”Geezer”.
