NAGY, Julius Stephen “Steve” – of Flint, age 63, passed away November 21, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Heritage United Church-Christ, 7074 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. James Offrink officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Sunday, 11 AM-2 PM and 4-8 PM Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd, Davison. On Tuesday, visitation will be at the church from 10 AM until the time of service. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held 6 PM Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elf Khurafeh Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Steve was born in Flint, MI on December 29, 1950, son of Julius and Priscilla (Torok) Nagy, Jr. He married Christine Crawford on September 25, 1982 and together they had two beautiful daughters. One of Steve’s proudest achievements was earning his degree from Michigan State University in 1973, and that his daughters, also graduated from Michigan State. Steve was a member of Heritage United Church-Christ, Masonic Lodge #236 in Davison since 1977, Elks Club Lodge #222, was on the Board of Flint Bowlers Association, Board of East Side Senior Citizens Association and was very active in events with the Elf Khurafeh Shriners Club. He was an avid hunter, bowler and golfer. Steve’s greatest love was his family. He worked for Genesee Township and City of Burton as a tax assessor retiring in 2006.
Steve is survived by his children, Shannon (Michael) Fray, Ashley Nagy; grandchildren, Camden, Cason and Breslyn Fray; mother, Priscilla Nagy; brother, William (Diana) Nagy; aunts and uncles, Robert Nagy, John (Laureen) Nagy, Barbara (Edd) Loomis, Carol (Russell) Leser; many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Nagy, Jr. on September 19, 2014; brother, David Scott Nagy on July 11, 1960; grandparents, Julius and Thelma Nagy, Sr.; Stephen and Thelma Torok; Edith Kappelman. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Steve’s very best friend, Larry Gramer, for his love and support.
