Bacon, Norman Stanley of Flushing, age 63, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 18, 2015, at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday November 28, 2015, at Rossell Funeral Home in Flushing. Pastor Allen Bacon will officiate the funeral service. Burial will follow the service at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday November 27, 2015 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday November 28, 2015 from 9-10 a.m. at Rossell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the Salvation Army.
Norman was born in Flint, Michigan on December 22, 1951. He was one of six sons of Earl and Lois (Humphrey) Bacon. He was involved in the Salvation Army band growing up. Then, he was in the Army as a military police officer in Germany. After his service in the army, he married Brenda Burns in Millington, Michigan on May 1, 1983. He helped with the Boy Scouts, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and coaching for AYSO soccer. He loved being with his family, working with people, and talking to people. He enjoyed collecting beer steins, making paintings, and learning sign language. He retired after working for the court system in Genesee County. After he retired, Norman worked as a substitute teacher and looked after his mother till her death in June, 2015.
Norman is survived by his wife, Brenda Bacon; daughter, Heidi Bacon (fiancé Brian Chartier); son, Nick Bacon; siblings, Lawrence (Margie) Bacon, Paul (Brenda) Bacon, and Dale (Nancy) Bacon; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lois Bacon and brothers, Ernest Bacon and Earl Mark Bacon. |
