STONE, Charles V. – of Maple Grove Towship, age 86, died peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Chesaning Comfort Care. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church – 400 N. Saginaw St., in Montrose. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10AM until the time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus will lead a Rosary beginning at 10:30AM.
Charles was born April 8, 1938, in Grand Blanc, the son of Charles Stone, Jr. and Elizabeth (Gundry) Stone. He attended Grand Blanc High School and Michigan State University where he received his bachelor's degree in agriculture. Charles was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #8669, and Assembly #2211. He was a longtime member of the Evergreen Cemetery Board of Directors.
Charles married Bonnie Lou Wilcox in 1969 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc. Bonnie died in September 2008. Surviving are: Margaret Lynch, Elizabeth Allen, and Edward Stone.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
