HENRY, S. Emogene – Of Flint, age 99, died Monday, January 25, 2016 at Fostrian Court Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, January 30, 2016 at
Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Tom Thomas officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday and 12pm Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Emogene was born in Washington, Pennsylvania on February 22, 1916, the daughter of the late Demas and Mary Post. Emogene married Reverend Alvin B. Henry on June 4, 1942 and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1999. She enjoyed playing the piano. Emogene and her husband Alvin were missionaries in Venezuela from 1946-1955. She retired from Sunshine Bible Shop as a bookkeeper after 33 years of service.
She leaves her 3 children, Carol J. and husband Tom Thomas of Park Ridge, IL, Dawn L. Henry of Portland, OR, and Roger B. and wife Sue Henry of Bolingbrook, IL;
3 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Melissa and Sarah;
1 niece and 3 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Alvin, 2 sisters and her brother.
