MAY, Russell – of Davison, age 90, passed away July 25, 2017 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held 12 PM Friday, July 28, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Russell was born in North Branch, MI on April 18, 1927, son of the late Arthur and Mary (Lemcool) May. He married Minnie Lou Simpson on February 25, 1956 and she preceded him in death on November 27, 1999. Russell proudly served his country in the U. S. Army and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He retired from Consumers Power after 45 years of service. Russell enjoyed playing pool, hunting, wildlife, gardening and working on everything that was mechanical including cars and tractors. He took great joy in telling and laughing at his “Russell” jokes.
Russell is survived by his children, Sandra Moore, James (Erin), Carol (Keith) Quinlan, Mark (Kelly); eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Albirdie (Max) Bramman; sister-in-law, Phyllis May; close friend, Marian Ryan. He was preceded in death by his sons, Rusty and Steven; brother, John. The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Russell.
