JOHNSON, Harold – Of Flint, age 81, died Monday, March 30, 2015, of dementia at Regency at Grand Blanc.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held for both Harold and Bonnie Johnson at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Harold was born in Flint, Michigan on October 18, 1933, the son of the late Claude and Elsie (Church) Johnson.
He graduated from Northern High School in 1953.
He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Roudebush on February 25, 1956 in Flint.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years.
Harold was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
He enjoyed his church, grandchildren and working on hot rods. He was devoted to his family and was a special Husband, Friend, Dad and Grandpa.
Mr. Johnson was employed by Fisher Body Grand Blanc in Welder Maintenance for 37.8 years, retiring, January, 1991.
Surviving are son, Scot Johnson of Flint;
daughter, Marla and husband Steve Fazzola of Clinton Twp.;
grandsons, Shae and wife Erin Tomkiewicz, Kasey Tomkiewicz and Connor Tomkiewicz;
great-granddaughter, Robin Tomkiewicz;
step-granddaughters, Stephanie and husband Dan Beever and Chelsea Webb;
brother, Jim and wife Carol of Gennie;
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Johnson, on March 10, 2015; parents, Claude and Elsie Johnson; brother, Steve Johnson and sister, Esther Schuaff.
