YOUNG, Mary W. – lifelong resident of Davison, age 94, passed away May 2, 2012 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Jim VanderSchuur officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:30 - 4 PM and 6-8 PM Saturday and 1-2 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Silver Maples of Chelsea.
Mary was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on January 27, 1918, daughter of the late James and Agnes (Walker) Smith. She married William O. Young in June, 1940 and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2002. Mary was a charter member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening and shopping. Mary and her husband showed horses for many years. She retired from GM-Chevrolet after 37 years of service.
Mary is survived by her nieces and nephews, James Smith, Robert Smith, Sandra Jenks, William Smith, Laura Thompson; many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, James A. Smith; sister, Agnes Rushlo.
