BAXTER, Janet E. – of Davison, age 78, passed away June 19, 2012 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Friday, June 22, 2012 at Richfield Church of the Nazarene, 7524 E. Mt. Morris Rd., Otisville; Pastor Clarence Moorhouse officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-3 PM and 5-8 PM Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. On Friday, there will be visitation at the church from 9 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Outreach East.
Janet was born in Flint, MI on September 27, 1933, daughter of the late Henry P. and Alice O. (Howlett) Russell. She was a member of Richfield Church of the Nazarene and a lifetime member of the American Postal Workers Union. Janet was an avid Davison football fan for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren and loved having cookouts. Janet also loved traveling to the Upper Peninsula with her family and her pets. She retired from the United States Post Office in 2005, after 45 years of service.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Alice (Ed) Ojenus, Susan (Marty) Hagerman, Hazel (Lester) West; grandchildren, Jim (Liz) Ray, Mary (Jason) Walraven, Krystyn (Jack) Williams, Jared (Priscilla) Hagerman, Mike and Paul Riley, Zack Hagerman, Kimmy Ojenus, Lydia West; great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Collette, Alex, Chole, Izzy, Ayden, Emily; brother, Larry P. (Nancy) Russell. The family would like to give a special thanks to Jennifer and Dave and Genesys Home Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James H. Ray and Joseph R. Baxter.
