Lori L. Marrah-McCarthy
Age 55 of Henderson passed away on Wednesday, June 08, 2016 surrounded by family after more than a year long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Lori was a crafter extraordinaire at LuluBelle’s Cottage, Henderson Michigan and the founder of the website, Planet Newf for her beloved Newfoundlands.
Lori was born September 21, 1960 in Owosso, Michigan and was the daughter of Don and Helen Marrah. She graduated from Owosso High School in 1979 and immediately left for a life in New York where her talents soared in Real Estate and Lighting Design. She raised her two beautiful daughters, Sarrah and Audrey in Kingston, New York until they returned to her hometown Owosso in 2000.
Lori and Paul McCarthy were married in 2007. Lori continued in Lighting Design, she opened Luminature Design retail store in downtown Owosso where she gave stained-glass classes, she enjoyed her work at Schneider’s Applicance/Art Van where they were very good to her after her diagnosis.
She is survived by her husband Paul, her daughters Sarrah (Adam) Riley, Audrey Schlichting and stepson Matthew McCarthy and her grandchildren, Levi, Layla, Ethan, Lincoln and Connor and her beloved dogs, Houston and Spuddy, along with her parents Don Marrah and Helen (Buehler) Marrah, siblings, Don (Jodi) Marrah, Paula Clarizio (Frank Madaski), Patrick Marrah (Christina Ciavone), and Andrea (Brian) Mayer.
Lori was predeceased by her cousin Larry Marrah and Sir Fisher Denewf.
Funeral services will be held 1pm, Friday, June 10, 2016 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Marlene Webster officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5pm - 7pm and on Friday from 12pm until the time of service.
The family suggests contributions to the Hospice House of Shiawassee County, 2005 Copas Road, Owosso, Michigan, 48867.
