HERSKORN, Robert (Bob) J. - Of Flint Michigan, born September 17, 1939 in Rhinelander Wisconsin, passed on June 5, 2024.
Robert attended St. Mary's Catholic School, was a Rhinelander High School graduate, and was a U.S Army Tank Mechanic in South Korea before discharge upon the death of his father.
Robert then attained the rank of assistant Fire Chief of the Rhinelander Fire Department. In his 27-year career as a firefighter he survived the Brown Street fire.
Bob was a Scoutmaster of Troop 595, had a lifelong hobby of stamp collecting, carpentry, classic cars and classical music.
He took pride in his personal pursuit of a Pizza Haven record and was an avid weightlifter for much of his life.
He is survived by his son, Randall Sr., Grandson, Randall Jr., and Granddaughter, Porsche and his amazingly devoted partner and caregiv er Melvin Lyons. Also, numerous nieces and nephews for whom he was a caring and kind influence.
He was preceded by his father Rudolph, mother Ruth, sisters Margaret (Peg), Lois, Billie his lifelong friend and partner, close friends Dennis and Mark.

Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI 48507. Chaplain Tom Tengler officiating.
Visitation 11am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
