LeRoy P. “Roy” Shoemaker, age 82 of Flint, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. He was born on June 24, 1937 in Diamondale, Michigan to parents Paul and Olga (Black) Shoemaker. Roy worked for Terry Allen Company for 50 years. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, home improvements and gardening. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and also loved his dog Lady. Roy was dedicated in everything he did and he worked hard for everything he had. Roy is survived by his wife, Lora Shoemaker; children: Anthony Paul (Teresa) Shoemaker, Todd LeRoy (Dianna) Shoemaker, Tonya Lynn (Mike Bogden) Shoemaker, and Dannielle (Doug) Fisher; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Wiggins; several nieces and nephews; and his dog Lucky Lady Shoemaker. He was preceded in death by both parents; first wife, Donna Ann Shoemaker; sisters: Joann McGuire and Della Jones. A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11am. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society in Roy’s name. |
