Beulah “Joan” Wood passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones in Linden, Michigan at the age of 89 and has entered the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father. Joan grew up in Swartz Creek where she met her husband John, who preceded her in death in 2010. The two shared a joyful marriage for 57 years and had two children together, Terry and Jeffrey. Joan was an excellent baker, had a great sense of style, and was always in good spirits. She loved having her family over for visits and cooking for them. She was always very active, participating in figure skating and roller dancing for many years. Later in life, she enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time with her many close friends.
Joan is survived by two sons: Terry Wood (Debra) of Corunna, Michigan and Jeffrey Wood (Stacey Budae) of Fenton, Michigan; grandchildren Brooke Wood, Hillary (Wood) Kerbawy, Adam Wood, Shelby Wood; great-grandchildren, Liam Kerbawy and Ava Kerbawy; her wonderful caregiver, Shannon Schmidt a true blessing in our eyes.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at 2PM Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Visitation will be held from 12PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Michigan Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Joan’s memory (https://www.cff.org/chapters/michigan-chapter). |
