SOMERS, Trudy Jo (Cowles) – of Bannister, formerly of Lapeer, age 52, passed away March 23, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Herb Wheelock officiating. Burial will follow in Dawn Memorial Cemetery, Lapeer. Visitation will be 12-8 p.m. Tuesday and 12-1 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Trudy was born in Flint on January 6, 1961, daughter of the late George and Joan (Erickson) Cowles. Trudy married Tracy Somers on May 14, 2005. She was the Office Manager for Knapheide Truck Equipment Centers of Flint. Trudy loved taking care of her home, especially decorating, and gardening. She was an avid ‘hot rodder’.
Trudy is survived by her husband, Tracy; son, Kevin Allen; sister, Michalle (John) Hart; brothers, Leonard (Louise) Cowles and Otis (Ruth) Cowles; many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Scott Somers and Dean-o Somers; sister-in-law, Terri Mosakowski. Trudy’s family gives special thanks to Knapheide for going above and beyond.
