RODGERS, Gary Sr. - Of Flint, age 74, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Vibra Hospital in Lincoln Park.
Funeral service will be held 1:30pm, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation 12-8pm Friday at the funeral home.
Gary was born in Flint on February 9, 1940, the son of the late Jess and Violet (McFadden) Rodgers. He married Judy Clairmont. He liked going to casinos with his wife and loved going out for good food and relaxing. He was referred to as “The Hawk” because he would say, “Just ask me, I know everything.” Gary was a Master Mechanic and retired from Buick. He loved music, cars and his family. Gary was very much loved and will be missed forever by his family and wife.
Surviving are wife, Judy;
son, Greg;
daughter, Carol Rodgers (Steve) Colonna;
grandchildren, Travis Hammer, Aaron Gallaty, Anthony Gallaty and Violet Rodgers;
sisters, Donna (Dave) Gibbs, Diane Early, Bonnie (Robert) Campbell and Marilyn (Richard) Pifer;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Jamie Gallaty, son, Gary Rodgers, Jr., parents, and 3 siblings
