SIMOR, John Frank -- Age 77, of Flint died November 18, 2015. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, November 23 at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 North Cherry Street, Flushing, Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM on Saturday and Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed at 6 PM Sunday followed by a K of C 3rd and 4th degree service. Visitation will also be held 10 AM until time of mass at the church on Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesee County 4-H Endowment Fund or the Thomas Smith Memorial Fund.
John was born October 14, 1938 in Swartz Creek the son of John Joseph and Frances Mary (Merinsky) Simor. He resided in the Swartz Creek area all his life, graduating from Swartz Creek High School in 1956. He attended Flint Junior College, U of M Flint, and Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He was a Veteran of the U.S Army and member of the Flushing American Legion Post 283. John retired from GM as an auditor after 36 years of service. John was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church. He was a member of the K of C Flushing Council 8489 and St. Joseph 4th Degree Assembly 2211. John was a member of the Flint Traffic Club for 36 years and was past President in 1982. He was a member of Delta Nu Alpha and served as past president in 1985. He was a board member of the Planning Commission of Clayton Township, from 1996-1997. He was an avid supporter of 4-H and a member of the Swartz Creek Historical Society.
He is survived by his daughter, Ann (Matthew) Hartmann of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Luke, Mary, Margaret, and Elizabeth,
He is preceded in death by his parents.
