SPILLANE, Elizabeth Belle - Age 95, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, October 12, 2015. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 16, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Dr. Gary R. Glanville officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Swartz Creek United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
Mrs. Spillane was born March 17, 1920 in Cadillac the daughter of Irving L. and Gussie R. (Smith) Miller. She was a 1937 graduate of Flint Central High School and had attended Flint Junior College. She married Charles Henry Spillane November 23, 1940 in Flint and he preceded her in death May 12, 2009. Mrs. Spillane retired in 1981 from Maas Brothers Store in Flint (Beverly's) as a buyer after 25 years of service. She had resided in Swartz Creek since 1940. She was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Society, Swartz Creek Women's Club and the Genesee County Farm Bureau. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Nikkiea and the entire staff at Woodhaven Senior Community.
Surviving are: daughters, Patricia Elizabeth and husband Lary Burk and Pamela Elizabeth and husband William Vredevoogd both of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Christina and husband James Sharp of Kalamazoo, James Burk of Swartz Creek, Mary Kathryn and husband Ryan Turner of Grand Blanc, Bradley and wife Sarah Vredevoogd of Holland; great-grandchildren, James Charles Sharp, Sarah Elizabeth Sharp, Grace and Sophie Turner of Grand Blanc; nieces, Suzanne Miller, Nancy and husband John Slack both of Oklahoma and Mary and husband Bob Zuver of Michigan.
