GAGNON, Maurice K. - Of Flint, age 72, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at Brian's House in Davison.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 609 East Fifth Avenue, Flint. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the North End Soup Kitchen. Visitation 2-8p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Gagnon will be at the church 10a.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass.
Maurice was born on September 5, 1938 son of the late Doria and Gladys (Barker) Gagnon. On January 19, 1963, he married Helen O'Malley and she preceded him in death on April 24, 2007. Maurice was a member of Knights of Columbus and a baseball Umpire for MHSAA for over 40 years. Maurice was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church where he was a member of St. Josephs Guild. Maurice retired from General Motors.
Surviving are son, Kevin and wife Cathie of Grand Haven; daughters, Margaret and husband Steve Anderson of Grand Rapids, Karen and husband Robert Slayton of Livonia and Monica and husband Michael Genslak of Clarkston; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lauren, Michael, Morgan, Megan, Joshua, Anna, David, Jenny, Matthew, Emily and Allison; brother, Norman and wife Betty Gagnon;
sisters, Maureen Smith and MaryAnn and husband John Palacios; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Mark and Richard Gagnon and sister, Joan Sutton. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com
