BRIGGS, Lucille – of Lapeer, age 92, passed away October 24, 2012 at Churchill Farms AFC. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Burial will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. On Saturday, there will be visitation at the church from 12:30-1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Churchill Farms AFC, 1180 Cliff Dr., Lapeer, MI 48446.
Lucille was born in Grandby, Quebec, Canada on November 24, 1919, daughter of the late Maurice and Losina Choiniere. Lucille Choiniere married Billy Briggs on May 28, 1949. Billy preceded her in death on June 17, 1976. Lucille was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Holy Family 55 and Over Club. Lucille was a former resident of Braidwood Manor in Davison. She enjoyed the Davison car cruises and the farmer’s market. Lucille was employed at the Ben Franklin on Richfield Rd. in Flint for many years. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Jan (Dan) Daup, Sue (Mark) Giegling and Judy (Brian) Dunton; grandchildren, Christine (Chad), Jeff (Melissa), Ryan (Betsy), Jenny (Eddie), Brandon (Meghan), Ashley (Nick) and Adam (Kelsie); great-grandchildren, Ellie, Mackenzie, Benjamin, Haley, Karson, Annie, David, Kinlee, Luke and Kery. She was preceded in death by her son, Barry Briggs; brother, Lionel Choiniere and sister, Anita Dick. Lucille’s family gives special thanks to the Coffeen family for their years of love and wonderful care.
