FRIDLINE, Charlene Jane (Bolen) – of Flint, MI, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM–7 PM Monday, January 27, 2025 and 12-1 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House of Detroit, in Charlene’s memory.
Charlene was born on September 25, 1936, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Charles and Pearl (Flynn) Bolen. On October 3, 1959, she married William Fridline in Flint, and they shared many wonderful years together until his passing on November 21, 2005. Charlene worked at Michigan Bell for many years before retiring. She was known for her love of family and enjoyed spending time with them on vacations and at special events. Charlene also cherished her visits to the casino and had a deep appreciation for old-time music, especially songs by Elvis Presley and Dean Martin. A dedicated mother and proud member of the Burton Eagles, Charlene’s life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories with those she held dear.
Charlene is survived by her 2 children, Karen (Robert) Royce and Jeff Fridline; 4 grandchildren, Robert (Valerie) Royce, Steven (Melanie) Royce, Michael Fridline and Trevor (Lauren) Raleigh; 5 great-grandchildren, Adison Lee, Christopher Royce, Hailey Royce, Koby Raleigh and Jaxson Raleigh; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pearl Bolen and husband, William Fridline.
