Survance, Jo-Ella J. – of Lapeer, age 68, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Lapeer Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Monday, February 8, 2016, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Ron Shamel officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 4-9 PM, Sunday from 1-8 PM and Monday from 1 PM until time of service at 3 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America or Eagle's Nest Church in Mt. Morris.
Jo-Ella was born on August 10, 1947, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois to James and Aleta (Smith) Lewis. She graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. Jo-Ella married Larry Survance on November 17, 1965, in West Salem, IL. She had resided in Lapeer since 1986 coming from Genesee Township. She served as an administrative and pastoral assistant at Eagle's Nest Church in Mt. Morris for several years. Jo-Ella enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Surviving are: Husband, Larry; 2 sons: Russell Survance of Lapeer and Aaron (Rebekah) Survance of Flint; Grandchildren: Alexandra, Tate, Jordan, Cadence, and Ariel; Mother, Aleta Lewis of Utah; 2 sisters: Georgia (Dennis) Seals and Marcella (Dale) Miller.
