PETRELLA, Joseph Allen – of Clio, age 83, died Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Bay City Nursing and Rehab Center in Bay City. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Rev. Carol J. Freeland officiating. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Joseph was born August 13, 1940 in Mocabee Creek, Kentucky to the late Tony and Bessie (Lewis) Petrella. He grew up in Kentucky and attended school. Joseph proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp. from 1967 to 1969 where he did two tours in Vietnam. Prior to his retirement in 1975, Joseph served as a police officer with Genesee County Police Department and then finished his career with the City of Flint Police Department with 15 years of service. He served as a union steward with the City of Flint Police Department. Joseph enjoyed hunting, listening to country music and a glass of wine. He loved his family and loved spending time with his brother and his family. “Semper Fi”
Surviving are: Children, Tony Petrella, Michael (Tracy) Petrella, Tonya Olivier (Petrella); Grandchildren, Randy, Maria, Tatiana, Raven, Saraya and Jayda; Siblings, Clyde (Elizabeth) Petrella, Yolanda (Donald) Hitko; Special Niece, Karla (Tim) Petrella; Special Nephew, Jason (Sheilla) Petrella; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Siblings, Noah Petrella, Carmen Petrella, Harmon Petrella, David Petrella, Kerry Petrella, Lorraine Petrella, Mary Lauer, Pat Petrella, Elizabeth Petrella; Special Nephew, Dexter Petrella.
