KERR, David Martin - Age 69, of Fenton passed away May 21, 2024. A Celebration of David's Life will take place 3:00 PM Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes Fenton Chapel 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Deacon Ron Kenney Officiating. Visitation 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Thursday. Memorial Contributions in David's memory would be appreciated to The American Red Cross Blood Drive or to The American Cancer Society. David, a man whose laughter and love brightened the lives of all who knew him, was born April 11, 1955 in Chincoteague, VA, the son of Charles Albert and Bernice May (Hanson) Kerr. David graduated from Great Mills High School in Great Mills, MD. He started working in the Tobacco Fields in Maryland. He later worked at the Nuclear Power Plant in Calvert County, MD. David started his career at the age of 18 with The Grand Trunk Railroad in Pontiac in 1974. He later retired from CN Railroad in 2015. David lived a life filled with joy, humor, and boundless love. More than anything, David cherished being a father and a grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the lights of his life, and he took immense pride in their achievements, always supporting them with his unwavering love and encouragement. David had a unique gift for making people laugh. His sense of humor and quick wit brought joy to countless gatherings, turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. He was a beloved neighbor, forming deep friendships that became a second family to him. His door was always open, and his home was a place of warmth and laughter. He was a man of many talents and hobbies. David loved taking cross-country trips and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with his friends. Whether he was fishing, woodworking, breeding praying mantises, gardening, or birdwatching, David approached each activity with enthusiasm and curiosity. He was always eager to learn something new and to share his passions with those around him. David was a respected and admired man, known for his kindness, generosity, and integrity. He was a wonderful father, brother, friend, partner, and grandparent, and an all-around extraordinary human being. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift us all. David is survived by his daughters, Angela Kerr, and Amanda (David Parsley) Kerr; grandchildren, Cameron, Arianna, and Ryder; siblings, Terry (Joe) Mattingly. and Michael (Melissa) Kerr; nephew, Warren Kerr; niece, Morgan Kerr; and the "Love of his Life", Cindy Rice and a host of friends and neighbors who will miss him dearly. David was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Bernice Kerr. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Dave.
