HUBBARD, Dorothy Carol - Age 81, of Flint, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, October 6, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Road, Flint. Fr. Tom Nenneau celebrant. Entombment in the Mausoleum at New Calvary Catholic Church, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint Thursday from 5-9 PM where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM followed by a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service and at church Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Dorothy Carol was born May 24, 1936 in Flint, the daughter of Willard S. and Margaret K. (Mills) Gailey. She was a 1954 graduate of Flint Central High School. She married her childhood sweetheart, Richard "Dick" Hubbard April 16, 1955 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Flint and he preceded her in death January 31, 2009. She retired in 1996 from the Flint Board of Education where she was a secretary for 34 years. Dorothy Carol was a life long resident of Flint. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, where she served as a member of the funeral luncheon committee. She also was a member of the S.E.I.U. Unit #140 Union and 6 years as a officer of I.O.F. Court Arrowhead #1195.
Surviving are: 4 children, Patrick (Cindy) Hubbard of Clio, Christopher (Teresa) Hubbard of Flint, Vicki (Tony) Esho of Hazel Park, and Daniel (Lori) Hubbard of Flint; grandchildren, Nicholas (Whitney), Brittney, Nina, Zachary, Justin (Alexandra) , Hali, Kaitlyn and great grandchildren, Cameron, Allison, and soon to be born great granddaughter, Rylie; sister, Janet (Fritz) Brohn of Birmingham; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Andy Buchkar; and sister, Ruthann (Ovadek) Panos. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Wellbridge of Fenton, Heartland Hospice, and Courtyard Manor of Swartz Creek.
