Robert was born in Scottville, Michigan on November 25, 1924, and a year and a half later moved to Flint with his parents. Bob attended Northern High School. He was given an honorary graduation after enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17, at the onset of WWII. He served in the South Pacific and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Upon completing three years of military service he returned home to complete his education. He lived in the Flint and surrounding communities until a few years ago when he became a Florida resident. Bob earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University. After graduation he began his career with AC Spark Plug, a Division of General Motors in Flint, Michigan. He was assigned to a variety of projects during the 30 years and one month that he worked for AC, retiring on January 1, 1981. A couple months into retirement, Bob returned to the workforce as a contract employee. His assignment was at AC Spark Plug for almost two years. In November 1982, he founded his own technical services contracting company to supply temporary employees and test engineering services to industry. It remained a family owned and operated business for 34 years until March 2016 when it was sold. Trialon Corporation provided technical staffing and test engineering services to clients in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia; literally providing thousands of jobs to people over the years. He was very proud of this accomplishment. Shortly after his discharge from the U.S. Marines, he was introduced to Ethel Hartley, who had just moved to Flint from Battersea, Ontario, Canada. They were married in 1947 and remained so for more than 61 loving years. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend, Ethel in 2008. Together they raised four children. He always remained a very devoted, giving and loving father to his children and their families; Sue Schacher and husband Don; Ron Resseguie and his wife Louise; Pat Crowder and her husband Larry and Gini Resseguie and her fiancee Al Lescault who he resided with in Titusville during his last year. He has six grandchildren; Jeff and Tonya Schacher; Jim Strickler, Rick Strickler (Deceased), Laurie Terryah, Ashlee Brust; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Bob always enjoyed the time he had to spend with his family. He was active in flying, boating, pistol shooting and RVing for most of his life. He also enjoyed television, reading and talking. He spent most winters in Naples, Florida with his wife and their summers in Michigan or traveling in his motorhome. He will be missed a great deal by his family and friends. Bob was a good person and well-liked by all. May he rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.
